Greetings and Farewells
As the Council continues to take root in Min-
neapolis, we warmly welcome Greg Grinley
and Pamela Diamond, who have joined us as
director of development and director of mar-
keting and communications, respectively.
We also welcome development associate
Bethany Whitehead and librarian Jessica
Shaykett. To the Board of Trustees, we are
pleased to welcome three new members:
James Hackney, Jr., Damian Velasquez and
Namita Wiggers. Finally, we want to thank
Barbara Berlin, Leilani Lattin Duke and
Tommie Pratt Rush for their continued ser-
vice on the board, and send a big thank-you
to departing members Susan Cummins and
Thomas Turner for their years of service.
Windgate Grant
The Council is delighted to announce a
three-year, $300,000 grant from the Wind-
gate Charitable Foundation. Based in Siloam
Springs, ar, the foundation is a strong sup-
porter of art, craft and education. The money
will be used to continue to develop the Coun-
cil’s education programming. To receive the
full amount, the Council will need to raise
$200,000 in matching donations over the last
two years of the grant. The Windgate foun-
dation has generously supported the ACC
for many years, and we are grateful for its
backing. -LYKNEA MIDLAND

Craft was certainly in the air on October 1,
a lovely fall evening, for the A C C ’s opening
party at its new headquarters in the historic
Grain Belt Brewhouse in northeast Minne-
apolis. On the rooftop terrace, with a view
of the downtown skyline and the Missis-
sippi River, Council trustees, staff and
guests gathered to honor the recipients of
the 2010 Aileen Osborn Webb awards. Min-
neapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak was also on
hand to celebrate the work of gold medalist
Albert Paley, John and Susanne Stephen-
son, Rebecca Medel, Ron Ho, Ginny Ruff-
ner, William Hunter, John Garrett, Janet
Koplos, The Corning Incorporated Foun-
dation and George and Dorothy Saxe.
